How it works.

You sit down. The first plate of three tacos arrives. You finish them, the next plate comes — same fillings, fresh tortillas, fresh salsas. No counting, no cap, no rush. Stop when you stop. Most guests average eight to twelve tacos. The record is held by a regular at twenty-three.

The kitchen runs Tuesday differently. The comal is dedicated to tortillas — hand-pressed, cooked, served, every minute. The chiles for the salsa martajada are toasted in the morning. The asada goes on the open flame at 11 AM and never leaves heat until close. Tuesday is the night the kitchen sounds like a tortillería in Monclova.

Why it works.

Most Dubai Mexican restaurants run themed nights with discounts — half-off cocktails, free entry, ladies' night. Querida runs an unlimited-tortillas programme. The difference is the kitchen architecture: tortillas are pressed-to-order, fillings cook in batches that hold heat all afternoon, salsas refresh every hour. The unlimited works because the kitchen is built for it — not because we sourced cheaper ingredients to afford the price.

AED 79 covers a soft drink (or one fresh agua fresca). After 1 PM, Mexican coffee is complimentary through 7 PM. No cover, no service charge, no minimum spend, no time limit on the table. You came for unlimited tacos; you're getting unlimited tacos.

The fillings.

• Asada

  Slow-cooked beef, six hours, in the same chile braise as the Plato de Birria. The Tuesday workhorse — most guests start here and order it twice.

• Pastor

  Pineapple-marinated pork (using halal-certified meat), trompo-style. Mexico City's most-loved street taco, on a Tuesday in Al Barsha.

• Tinga

  Chipotle-braised chicken, smoky and slightly sweet. The sleeper hit. First-timers always order Tinga second.

• Pollo

  Lime-grilled chicken, charred edges. The lightest of the six. Vegetarians who don't go vegetarian on Tuesday usually pick Pollo.

• Chorizo

  Mexican-style chorizo (red, paprika-rich, not Spanish-style). Made in-house. Pairs with melted cheese for a Tuesday-only quesadilla on request.

• Adobada

  Chile-rubbed pork (halal-certified). The deepest flavour of the six — long-marinated, charred quickly, served pink. The "I'll have one more, this is the last one" filling.

A small Querida tradition.

On some Tuesdays — usually the ones around a full moon — a mariachi trio shows up unannounced. They play three songs, bow, and leave. It's not advertised, not bookable, not on the calendar. If you're in the room when they arrive, the room claps when they walk out. That's not a marketing programme; it's just how Mama Lalis runs the floor.

Are the Tuesday tacos halal?

Yes. Querida is a fully halal-certified kitchen. All Tuesday taco fillings — beef, chicken, pork-style sausage and adobada (using halal-certified red meat) — are halal-compliant. No alcohol on premise.

Yes — up to seven people walking in. For groups of 8 or more, message +971 56 312 3030 to plan ahead. The room is twenty-six seats — Tuesday fills fast, last seating fills around 6:15 PM. Arrive before 6 PM if you want to seat 8.

Is Tuesday Unlimited Tacos available on delivery?

No — the unlimited-rounds format is dine-in only. Delivery (Talabat, Deliveroo) gets you the same six fillings on the standard taco menu, priced per taco.
